“Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God”–Matthew 5:9.
Ruggles, our featuring guest artist/photographer, once again shares another from her priceless works with the world also on this platform.
Tammy has a progressive blinding disease known as RP, but became a fine art photographer in 2013 with the help of a simple point and shoot digital camera set on auto, a 47-inch computer monitor, and sometimes a little guidance from whoever accompanies her on a photo adventure.
Although she loves color and does take color photos, she prefers black and white, since she sees best in high contrast.
“Sometimes I’m asked, ‘How can you take pictures if you’re legally blind?’ Well, my camera sees for me. I see the general blurry shape of something, and the camera captures what I can’t see.”
Some of her photos have been published in art magazines, literary journals, and photography publications like PhotoVoice, Graphis, IJ Review, LiftBump, Heartlight Magazine, Smart Photography, Orbis, LION (The Lion’s Club), Oitzarisme, The Notebook, and others.
She has a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree and makes her home in Kentucky.
