NIGERIANS BREATHE AGAIN AS BUHARI WINS PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION

Celebration begins in Nigeria as Muhammadu Buhari, the formidable opposition candidate in the Nigerian 2015 presidential election coasted to a historic victory even with one more state’s votes to be announced.

The incumbent president Goodluck Jonathan has already called the ex-military dictator (now self-proclaimed reformed democrat) to congratulate him.

The concession of defeat is expected to douse tension across the country, especially in South-South Nigeria where President Jonathan comes from.

The opposition party, All Progressive Congress (APC) scored 14,951,378 votes while the ruling Peoples’ Democratic Party scored  12,827,522 votes.

Votes from the Boko Haram ravaged state of Borno  (the last) is expected to be released within the hour. Buhari has a very huge following in Borno State.
