We have all heard this: “even a dead clock is right two times a day”. That is motivational gibberish, which encourages laziness and gives an illusion of hope. You do not need to do anything; just remain where you are, and somehow you would be right. I have seen people wear dead watches out, and I wonder why? Is it now a bracelet? If it is not working; throw it away or fix it! Going about with a dead watch is self- deception… the watch is dead already, it would not even recognise when it is right. So what is the point? Our minds are like watches. A docile mind should not expect to be on point by any means. There is no way on God’s green earth a man can be mentally inactive and expect to be relevant. Always plant new ideas in your mind; and watch them blossom. That is how change comes… That is how to be creative.
“… Be instant in season, out of season…” Here, Paul admonished Timothy to be on point. There is no time to sleep or be slack.
In Mark 11; Jesus encountered a fig tree- green with leaves, but void of fruit. That is a type of a dead clock. It had the potential to be fruitful, but had nothing but leaves and false hope. Do not be a dead clock. Activate your mind; and be relevant in season and out of season.
