Nigerians, home and abroad have continued to voice their expectations and hope as the nation goes to the polls today to choose a president who will rule them for the next four years.
Below are few of the expectations and views:
Dara Michael, Broadcaster, The Gambia: Thank you my brother. Nigerians here are divided in this issue, I spoke with a couple of people and they will bet their lives for Jonathan’s victory and some will tell you that even if PDP should rig the elections, Jonathan will not win. As the former publicity Secretary of the PDP Gambia charter myself, I have the unique opportunity of speaking with my former comrades, some of who told me point clearly that their outward outspokenness for Jonathan was just to dance to the gallery as they are sure that Jonathan will lose. Even here, Nigerians are sharply divided based on the issue of ethnic and religious sentiments. This will form part of my programme tomorrow morning on West Coast Radio 95.3 fm.
Ajayi Olanrewaju Olabode, Business Owner, Lagos: Regarding tomorrow’s election, I stand for change because if a man dies he cannot live again so all days of my appointed time I have been waiting for this change to come and for change I stand. I vote Buhari & Osinbajo, not because they are APC candidates, but judging from their past records I believe every sane Nigerian will vote right and wisely.
Azuaru Udochukwu Amaechi, Middle East, Asia: The election will be free and fair and GEJ will win for his second tenor and many Nigerians here supported him than Buhari, we don’t want Muslims to be in power again in Naija because all their agendas are the same every where in the world. We live with them here we see how they rule. In Abia State we are supporting Alex Oti of APGA, he will deliver because Governor T.A. Orji and Co have nothing to offer and in Umuahia North House of Assembly we support K. C. ONUZURIKE of the same party.
Victor Amure, Gospel Minister, England: Our mother land had been ruled for the past years by failure, people who are never truly Nigerias. They have failed in their marriages and how can they pass the test? Nigeria is a great nation, lets get it right this time. Long live Nigeria.
Contemporary Christian Lifestyle Magazine prays that the Nigerian elections will be peaceful and fair. We pray that God will stay the hands of all who may be scheming evil against the majority wishes of the people. In Jesus’ name, Nigeria will not disintegrate but rise up from the dust of our past woes to become an enviable nation among the committee of nations. GOD BLESS NIGERIA.
