The Christian Association of Nigerian-Americans (CANAN) has announced the appointment of a new Executive Director to replace Pastor ‘Laolu Akande who few weeks ago was appointed Senior Special Assistant (Media and Communication) to the Nigerian Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo.
In a statement recently released signed by Dr. James Fadele, the CANAN President/Chairman, Board of Trustees, Pastor Adebisi Oyesile, PhD, D. Min, the founding National Financial Secretary of the association will now replace Pastor Akande as the new Executive Director. Pastor is now on a leave of absence due to his new appointment.
Also in the release, and as part of the reorganization, Dr Fadele announced that”Mr. Chibuzo Anyaegbunam, another founding official of the National Secretariat of CANAN has been named its New National Financial Secretary.
These appointments were made by the Board of Trustees at its meeting last Thursday Sept 24, 2015, and are already in effect.
The Board also congratulated Pastor Akande on his appointment as a Senior Special Assistant to the President of Nigeria, in the Office of the Vice President, and prayed for his success in the assignment. Akande will continue to serve as an unpaid Trustee of the association.”
